Ivanhoe Makers Market

There is nothing quite like meeting the maker behind the products and I was fortunate enough to meet a number of delightful women today at the Ivanhoe Makers Market.

Located off the main drag of Lower Heidelberg Road in Ivanhoe, this market is administered and located at the Livingstone Community Centre. On the day I was there were around 25 stallholders, although I’m told there has been more in the past.

Elwood Farmers’ Market

Another great local Farmers’ Market in the hipster suburb of Elwood. On a beautiful autumn morning, I waded my way through the autumn leaves lining the pathway leading into the grounds of Elwood College. There were some construction works on so it’s relocated to the rear of the property however, it won’t be long before it’s back in its original spot.

With around 40 stalls selling beautiful home-made / hand-made produce, this is a quality market that lives up to the reputation of the Victorian Farmers Market Association. Here are some of the items available: (more…)
