Animal Welfare Op Shop – Burwood

Tagged: , , , , , ,

How can you not love a shop that has the cutest little puppy asleep on a velvet pillow on the counter? This is one of the shabbiest stores but also one of the loveliest. It doesn’t have a huge amount of stock and is a little messy but there are bargains to be had and the staff are truly delightful.

The volunteers are genuinely passionate about their cause and donations are gratefully accepted. Please come with small change as it’s difficult to exchange large notes.

Be prepared for something of a scrounge in this store. There are some bargains to be had and it’s not well picked through. I found some lovely jewellery pieces that just needed a tweak with some pliers (I own jewellery pliers) and boom – I’ll have a stunning necklace to add to my collection.

The organisation behind this Op Shop is Animal Liberation Victoria also known as ALV. They have a team that investigates factory farms for over 20 years, rescuing sick animals and exposing the horrific conditions endured by billions of animals. ALV’s actions draws attention to animal abuse are regularly covered in media around the world, helping spread the message of compassion.
