Another nice Op Shop with everything laid out well in colours without being overstocked and tight to move around the store.
This one in Camberwell has a lovely warm vibe about it. The staff are delightful and very helpful and are continually changing the displays to keep people interested who visit often.
My daughter found a great pair of jeans in excellent condition. $25 which for an Op Shop is a lot of money but we went halves because they were so good. Considering we’d just been to the Camberwell Market where you can buy things for $5 and $10 it was a stretch for her but I was feeling generous.
Some stores stock items such as the above. They are brand new and I’m not sure if they source them from a company that has gone broke or through friends or an oversupply somewhere. Either way, they are reasonable priced.
I like this piece I found on their website:
Red Cross Shops sell donated clothing, accessories and home wares to raise funds for Red Cross’ humanitarian activities. Each year, we rescue 450 tonnes of clothing from landfill, give opportunities to 4500 volunteers, and generate funds to help Red Cross support vulnerable people in Australia and around the world. To continue to do this, we need donated items to sell. The proceeds from the sale of items support the vital everyday work of Red Cross, providing relief in times of crisis and care where it’s needed most.
